My name is Allan Matthews and I was formally trained as a cabinetmaker at the Dartmouth Regional Vocational school, after which I took a 3 year apprenticeship to become a Shipwright in HMC Dockyard. I retired after a 30 year career. I have been creating hand made pieces of woodworking for over 45 years. My work ranges from live edge bowls, candy bowls, salad bowls, jars, jewellery boxes, toys, cutting boards and charcuterie boards out of various types of wood. Most of my work is from a single piece of wood. I enjoy teaching lathe at Windsor Maker's Studio and passing on knowledge to anyone who wants to learn. Allan can be found on Facebook and Instagram!​
