Monique has been a board member of the Avon Community Farmers' Market since its founding in 2018 and is a retired registered nurse and educator, along with being a very active community member. Monique believes that the market provides a place for community members to meet their neighbours, explore what's in the community, learn about local products and services, and is a venue for vendors to highlight their talents and sell products. Monique also believes that shopping locally keeps a community alive, and that there is a misconception that driving to the city offers a better selection and prices, which is not always true.
