Manning family farm is located in Falmouth and the farm has been in the family for over 50 years. Catherine and Dean are the second generation of Mannings to run the farm. They have green houses where they grow a variety of produce including tomatoes, english cukes, and early spring greens. They also have beef cattle. It is a fully family run farm and they are known for their tomatoes, cucumbers and hodge podge fixings.
At Manning Family Farm, they believe that shopping local allows better quality products, a lot of the time your produce will be picked fresh that day which means it is going to taste fresher and better. As well as it allows the money to stay in the community, when community members are spending their money it stays in the community and customers have a product with very few "food miles" on it. Fun Fact: At Manning Family farm, they purchase many varieties of bugs to avoid using pesticides. By using insects such as ladybugs, parasitic wraps and other beneficial bugs they can grow a safe crop free of pesticides. |
